I wish I could help you, more. Have you tried seeking alternate help, as in help seperate from the military? My ex returned from a tour, and I believe he suffers from the same thing. However he refuses to do anything about it, so hats off to you for aknowlegding it. Try and do a search for a group online, of other men that are going, and have gone through the same thing. I did a basic search for you, hopefully something there will help. My thoughts are with you. feel free to email me personally if you need to vent. I have no proffesional training, but I understand the value of a sympathetic ear. I hope these sites can help at least a little.

- I believe the best medicine (at least my therapist tells me so) is to talk about it. if you don’t have family that can help you, and if you’re not getting what you need from a real support group then try joining an online support group. You’ll find lots more people online to ask for opinions and help. I think http://dailystrength.org will have something for you. They have support groups for everything. I hope this helps! it’s helped me for sure!

Just in case some one doesn’t know what it is here it is right from the book of mental health disorders.Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, PTSD, is an anxiety disorder that can develop after exposure to a terrifying event or ordeal in which grave physical harm occurred or was threatened. Traumatic events that may trigger PTSD include violent personal assaults, natural or human-caused disasters, accidents, or military combat.
I was in the marine corps and saw some things that i did not want to see and done some things i did not want to do. It still haunts me still today and i really hate it. It causes allot of fear in me because i don’t know what i am capable of doing in those situations. I go to a completely different world and a completely different time nothing becomes home. Mine is usually triggered by loud popping sounds some times by the jets that fly over head of kids screaming bloody murder like they are being killed. yes they give you pills and suggest you go to the meetings but if you go there you are treated like a child for one and the doctors don’t really understand what happened and how to fix it honestly. Many other like my self have gotten over it but i can’t seem to let mine go i was honarbly discharged due in injury and when i was i started have PTSD. Any one else have this? Have you known any one ot get over it? Have you gotten over it? Any advice? I am tierd of haveing a fit ill call it and comming back and i broke the lamp and i don’t remember a thing and then every one treats me differently i am just plain tierd of it. So please help me if you can. Thank you for reading and responding.

Why don’t the other one think of something to say ? Maybe there is really nothing to say so it is not your problem and the other one understands it too . If there is any talk it will come naturally without you worrying about what to say .

As a woman I have found most men deal with conflict (meaning disagreement) by avoiding or passive aggressive tactics (IE: not picking up, forgetting to stop at the store, watching tv when chores need done). Most women want to talk it out to the nth degree. It is important to me as a woman that I feel that the man cares for me and my emotional needs. My conflict is usually about resolving the issue and feeling good about it. For a man (ie: my husband) he was to resolve the issue so we can just stop talking about it. He tends to solve it and perhaps resent the decision because it wasn’t a good solution, just a quick one.
