  • No that is not what happiness is. although I have heard this saying many times in my life( you can’t take it with you when you die) some people just don’t get it. Happiness is a state of mind in which you are at peace with yourself and with the world, money has nothing to do with it.

  • You pose an interesting question. I say interesting becasue in your question you define success as the "god job, good money etc.." I agree that your definition is accurate as compared to most American’s view of success. I myself was one of these people who thought that the appearance of success, which is what a lot of people really want, is the path to happiness.

It was not until I became a father almost 3 years ago that I redefined my models of what success and happiness are. The moment I was responsible for another human being my life changed in a way that only a parent can describe. I knew right then that the meaning of life is simple becasue I stood there above my son I knew that they ONLY thing I can truly hope for him is happiness. If I can acheive the goal of making my son be happy becasue he is doing what he wants to do to make himself happy and contributing to society in the same way that indeed I am a success. To make another happy is to live a life of success.

Your question should be reversed. Happiness = success.

  • contentment=happiness

It doesn’t matter how much money you have, your status in society. It all means nothing in the end. What you do with your time on this earth does.

Living to please God, not others, is what makes me happiest. Not being content with what you have leads to lying, cheating, and other behaviors in order to obtain those things, and ultimately lead to misery.

Why don’t the other one think of something to say ? Maybe there is really nothing to say so it is not your problem and the other one understands it too . If there is any talk it will come naturally without you worrying about what to say .

As a woman I have found most men deal with conflict (meaning disagreement) by avoiding or passive aggressive tactics (IE: not picking up, forgetting to stop at the store, watching tv when chores need done). Most women want to talk it out to the nth degree. It is important to me as a woman that I feel that the man cares for me and my emotional needs. My conflict is usually about resolving the issue and feeling good about it. For a man (ie: my husband) he was to resolve the issue so we can just stop talking about it. He tends to solve it and perhaps resent the decision because it wasn’t a good solution, just a quick one.

Not really, maybe when you are younger…I being a bit older want a job I am happy doing. If I am happy at work I am happier at home. Money does not = happiness…Look at Micheal Vick, had millions and flushed it all away for dog fighting…Owen Wilson, millionare trys to commit suicide.

  • I think only to a point. Studies have shown that once a person achieves enough income to meet basic needs, there is not much correlation between income and happiness. A mature, balanced outlook on life, interests, faith, and family are far more important to happiness.
