Well it's important because if you become a Sainsbury's Manager you will be dealing with staff, customers and suppliers all day every day, so interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
PS If you get the job, please make them produce more custard donuts. I love those things, and they always sell out.

How in the holy hell would you expect us to know where Sainsbury's is, and how would that differ from any other manager?

Good interpersonal and communication skills are important to maintain a good working environment, a manager who finds it hard to communicate with his or her colleagues will find it hard to maintain a good working relationship with them i.e. keeping them happy, relaying what need to be done, etc.
