Interpersonal communication is the theory and practice of communication in face-to-face situations through verbal, nonverbal, and relational processes.
Presentation communication is also known as public speaking, one would emphasize on analysis, reasoning, organization, evidence, and delivery.
Communication skills are the tools used in the above situations, as well as every other situation known. They can be verbal and/or nonverbal.
Presentation is basically ONE direction -from the presenter to an audience and may be either data, emotional content or both.
Interpersonal skills refer to the ability to establish trust in one or a few other people, to understand what people mean as well as what they say, and to initate and respond in a manner which is non-threatening. It relies both on spoken and non-verbal messages, and is essentially conformed to take into account feelings, values and emotions. It runs in both directions.
Communications skills refers to the ability to accurately impart and receive data and information to and from others. It is emotionally neutral and devoid of value judgements. It runs in both directions.
If you’re good with people, you are skilled in all three areas, can use them more or less simultaneously and can appropriately mix and match the skills according to what works best at the time.
