Technology has an negative impact on interpersonal communication.Do u agree? And what are your reasons? =)

Yes, I agree with you.
While many people are very tech savvy and that has it's benefits, I've noticed that some people have a lack of face-to-face interpersonal skills. I've seen this more in the younger age groups who have grown up with readily available technology such as email, instant messaging, etc. (Don't remember a time before computers, cell phones, ipods, etc.)

Not only has technology had a negative impact on inter-personal communication, but with cell phones, instant messaging, and the like, it has made it much EASIER to lie to someone else.

what interpersonal communication? it doesn't exist anymore,
send an email, im, text or fax. we don't need phones anymore
except to text. when is the last time your spoke to a person without an far east accent when calling a cell phone carrier or a bank or a credit card company or a computer help line? all our (USA) jobs are gone overseas in order to improve the bottom line (profits) of these huge corporations. ceo's are paid on profit or improvement of sales. they could care less about the level of service they provide, they already made money on your initial purchase. people are getting pretty fed up with it, before you buy, find out who they outsourced their
customer service departments to, what country. so, get rid of your phone and learn a foreign language, better make it Chinese. sad, very sad.

Yes I very much agree. I have thought about this several times. One example, you see a group of two or three teens walking. They are not talking to each other, they all got their cell phones on their ear. Or one thing I think looks rude, some one in a store. They go to pay for their stuff. Only they are on the phone, they can't say thank you to the clerk or anything. They can't concentrate on what they are doing. When I was young you would be outside playing and make friends. Now everyone is inside chatting on the net. But they don't know how to make face to face friends. I am afraid there is going to be more and more violent crimes and such. Simply because if you can't see others as people then you have no feelings for them.

Technology allows for many forms of communications that previously were not available.
In many cases people use that to avoid the difficult conversations or avoid it all together.
From that aspect it does have a negative impact, but only when there was desire to not have those conversations in the first place.
It can have a positive aspect on interpersonal communication when there is a separation by distance, such as where a patient is the hospital for a major operation far from home and can share the family Christmas via web cam.
