The effective use of interpersonal communication is indispensable in any workplace in which two or more people are involved. Yet, it probably is the most overlooked issue, especially when an organization is experiencing problems in achieving its mission. Many managers believe interpersonal communication is just a "touchy-feely" concept; such managers tend to be authoritarian and fear their perceived loss of authority if employees were to have a greater voice in the workplace.
